Theoriebezüge in der systemischen Therapie

The enormous internal differentiation of systemic therapy offers a useful variety of intervention possibilities, yet on a theoretical level, it leads to inconsistencies and contradictions. This not only complicates the conveyance of systemic theoretical foundations in training but also hinders a reliable theoretical grounding for the professional practice of practitioners. Following a fundamental discussion of the theory-practice relationship in psychotherapy, this article aims to demonstrate how a constructivist stance allows for intentional and reflective utilization of various systemic theories. In doing so, the sociological systems theory a la Luhmann and synergetics are compared in terms of their resolution capabilities and their suitability for various phenomenon domains, outlining requirements for a clinical theory of systemic therapy.
