<p>We present a simple and efficient method to construct sulfonyl azides from sulfonyl hydrazides using <i>N</i>-chlorosuccinimide (NCS) and trimethylsilyl azide&#xa0;(TMSN<sub>3</sub>), and <i>N</i>-sulfonyl heterocycles from readily available sulfonyl hydrazides using NCS in the presence of K<sub>2</sub>CO<sub>3</sub>. This approach is compatible with a broad range of sulfonyl hydrazides bearing various functional groups, affording good to excellent yields. The method is environmentally friendly, easy to execute, and operates under mild reaction conditions.</p> Graphical abstract <p></p>
