Recent advances in the design and synthesis of coumarins and their derivatives via Suzuki–Miyaura reaction (2002–2024)

Coumarins are a diverse class of organic compounds with a broad spectrum of biological activities, including anticoagulant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties. Their structural versatility and pharmacological potential make them valuable in medicinal chemistry and materials science. Palladium-catalyzed Suzuki–Miyaura reaction, a powerful cross-coupling method, has emerged as a prominent tool for the designing and synthesizing coumarins and their fused derivatives due to its efficiency and versatility. This review explores the significant advancements in the design and synthesis of coumarins using this reaction from 2002 to 2024.
