摘要

In this work, an alanine-modified carbon paste electrode (ALMCPE) was successfully developed using alanine modification on the surface of bare carbon paste electrode (BCPE) by electro-polymerization using cyclic voltammetry methods for the detection of carmoisine. The electrochemical behavior of carmoisine estimated using various methods, including electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, cyclic voltammetry, and differential pulse voltammetry. The results revealed that the ALMCPE exhibited significantly improved electrochemical properties, including enhanced sensitivity, conductivity, and electrocatalytic activity compared to BCPE. The modified electrode was successfully detected carmoisine in indigo carmine with high selectivity and slight interference from other chemical species. In addition, the developed sensor shows good stability, reproducibility, and repeatability. The concentration of carmoisine changes in the range of 20–500 µM, with a lower detection limit of 0.78 µM. These findings suggest that ALMCPE offers a promising platform for electrochemical sensing analytical applications, particularly for detecting carmoisine and other related compounds in complex sample analysis.
