Cost-efficient privacy-preserving service deployment for SDN-based edge computing
摘要
The combination of edge computing and software defined networking enables flexible network deployment and operation by using network functions virtualization. However, privacy concerns arise from potential data leakage at intermediate and destination nodes during data traffic forwarding. This paper proposes a privacy-preserving service deployment approach that minimizes the total deployment cost while protecting routing path and destination node information. For the routing path selection, the approach prevents repeated visits by adding penalties to traversed way-points by using an adjustable parameter. The parameter can be dynamically adjusted according to different application privacy requirements. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed approach can change the routing paths of different data traffic to avoid possible privacy leakage.
