A study on genus Termitomyces with description of two new species and a new record from Pakistan
摘要
In this study, we presented a multigene phylogeny of the genus Termitomyces based on internal transcribed spacer (ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 = ITS) and large subunit of nuclear ribosomal DNA (28S). Two new species under the names of T. ahmadii and T. pabbiensis are described herein along with one new record of T. heimii based on thirteen collections during mushroom surveys in 2021–23 from different areas of Pakistan. Termitomyces ahmadii is characterized by grayish yellow brown small size basidiomata, scrobiculate pileus and stipe without psuedorrhiza and annulus, absence of sclerobasidia while T. pabbiensis has basidiomata with medium sized, pale radish fibrillose pileus of pale radish with greyish mucronate and annulate stipe with psuedorhiza. The number of Termitomyces species in Pakistan has reached up to 12. A key to all existing species of the genus Termitomyces in Pakistan is also given.
