Pathomorphological characterization of cystic endometrial hyperplasia in a sheep
摘要
Cystic endometrial hyperplasia (CEH) is a progressive, pathologic remodeling of the endometrium, characterized by marked proliferation and cystic transformation of the endometrial glands. The pathogenesis is primarily attributable to hyperestrogenism. In small ruminants, the condition is commonly associated with the ingestion of phytoestrogen-rich forages. CEH represents a primary cause of permanent infertility. This report describes a specific occurrence of CEH in a domestic ewe, Torki Qashqai breed, 4-year-old, and 53 kg weight. Gross examination revealed multiple translucent cysts (3–8 mm) predominantly localized on the caruncles. Histopathological analysis confirmed glandular epithelial hyperplasia, cystic dilation of adnexal structures, and peri-glandular fibrosis.
