<p>The prevalence of hepatitis B virus infection is ten times higher in healthcare workers (HCWs) than in the general population, making it a global health priority. Vaccine non-responders and those with low titers are identified through sero monitoring. This study aimed to assess the immune response to hepatitis B vaccine among healthcare workers. A cross-sectional study was conducted from January to June 2023 in a tertiary healthcare facility in Nigeria. A simple random sampling technique was used to select 50 fully vaccinated healthcare workers. Blood samples were collected from each participant, and the plasma was analyzed to determine the status of hepatitis B surface antibody titer (anti-HBs), hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), hepatitis B core antibody (anti-HBc), and HIV antibody using ELISA techniques. Out of 50 fully vaccinated HCWs enrolled, 46 (92.0%) had anti-HBs titer &gt; 10&#xa0;IU/ml, while 4 (8.0%) had anti-HBs titer &lt; 10&#xa0;IU/ml. All study participants tested negative for HBsAg, anti-HBc, and HIV. A high level of protection was observed among the vaccinated HCWs, suggesting a reduced risk of occupational exposure to HBV, which in turn enhances workplace safety and confidence. Healthcare facilities should prioritize vaccinating their staff to minimize the risk of HBV transmission.</p>
