摘要

Applied geography has evolved from a reactive problem solver into a forward-looking, agenda-setting discipline: geographers not only analyze spaces but with a broad methodological toolkit and interdisciplinary collaboration, they also develop concrete scenarios that make cities, regions and businesses more resilient and attractive. The German Association for Applied Geography (DVAG) seeks to strengthen this transformative mission by providing swift, practice-oriented training, deliberately expanding its network and forging strategic alliances on an international scale. At the same time, it champions practice-based degree programs so that emerging professionals learn early to turn spatial thinking into tangible action. Through focused public relations work and compelling success stories, the DVAG demonstrates the value of spatial expertise, persuades policymakers, industry and the public and positions geography as a key discipline for actively meeting the complex challenges of tomorrow.
