Numerical analysis of mixing performance in micromixers with chambers and baffles for mixing applications
摘要
In the present study, micromixers consisting of three inlets and four split-and-recombine chambers have been investigated. The two different chambers, circular and square, and the three different types of baffles, flat, curved, and angled, were incorporated. The widths of the baffles were varied to 160 μm, 200 μm, and 240 μm. The study examines the impact of chamber and obstacle shape and size on flow and mixing at Reynolds numbers from 0.1 to 40. The obtained results indicate that the shape of the chambers and obstacles have a significant impact on the mixing performance of the micromixers. Moreover, the shape of the baffle significantly affects the mixing index. Based on the study, an optimized micromixer design with detailed geometric configuration is proposed to enhance mixing performance.
