Purpose <p>Digital health technologies hold significant promise for the adoption of individualised care by promoting self-management. This study aimed to explore the experiences and perceived impact of using digital health technologies on individualised care among breast cancer survivors who had completed the first year after their primary treatment.</p> Method <p>The data of the study based on a thematic analysis approach were collected by holding individual online interviews with seven breast cancer survivors (<i>n</i> = 7).</p> Results <p>The participants described digital health technologies as valuable tools that supported their physical recovery, emotional well-being, and self-management after primary treatment. Mobile applications and wearable devices helped them monitor symptoms, manage fatigue, and maintain healthy habits, while online platforms provided social and emotional support for them. However, the participants also reported challenges, including unequal access, limited interactivity, the lack of applications supporting personalised care, and insufficient individualised guidance from healthcare professionals.</p> Conclusion <p>Breast cancer survivors found digital health tools effective for personalised care but highlighted the need for more functional, inclusive, and holistic solutions. They emphasised better communication with healthcare providers and tailored follow-up systems. To meet long-term needs, digital applications should offer customised counselling, ongoing monitoring, and personalised content, supporting both patient-centred care and provider communication.</p>

Purpose

Digital health technologies hold significant promise for the adoption of individualised care by promoting self-management. This study aimed to explore the experiences and perceived impact of using digital health technologies on individualised care among breast cancer survivors who had completed the first year after their primary treatment.

Method

The data of the study based on a thematic analysis approach were collected by holding individual online interviews with seven breast cancer survivors (n = 7).
