Spülungen des Murkraftwerks Bodendorf: Auswirkungen auf die Fischfauna unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der Äschenbrut

In order to assess the effects of reservoir flushing on grayling, juvenile fish surveys were carried out in the Upper Mur over a period of eight years. Two years with reservoir flushing and six years without reservoir flushing were analysed. The analyses clearly show that the existing fluctuations in fish densities and year classes are determined by hydrological conditions and temperature. No influence of flushing could be detected.
These statements are supported by the calculation of the Severity of Ill Effects (SEV) and the evaluation of existing laboratory tests on the effects of fine sediments on fish. The SEV indicates physiological stress and a temporary reduction in feeding rate, but no mortality. The evaluation of the laboratory tests shows that concentrations of > 10 gl‑1 for several days and > 1 gl‑1 for one month, which are both significantly higher than the concentrations and exposure times normally encountered during the flushing of reservoirs of run-of-river power stations, do not lead to increased mortality.
