HydroBOD-OOe: Ein bodenhydrologisch basierter Ansatz zur regionalen Bestimmung des potenziellen Oberflächenabflusses

Due to climate change and expanding infrastructure, damage caused by heavy rainfall is increasing. Identifying vulnerable areas is essential to address this issue. To determine these areas, adequate information on soil hydrological parameters is crucial. However, such information is often not available with sufficient accuracy, particularly for modeling of pluvial runoff events.
Therefore, in the HydroBOD-OOe project, homogeneous, comprehensive information on runoff-relevant soil physical and soil hydrological parameters on a regional scale was compiled for Upper Austria, applying proven modified, and new approaches such as machine learning.
Using a modified version of the process-oriented, eventmodel HydroBOD, which was developed and tested in Lower Austria and adapted to the landscape characteristics and available data of Upper Austria, hydrological response units and infiltration capacities were determined for six scenarios. These can subsequently serve as the basis for hydrological modeling of surface and channel runoff.
