Lebensmittelverluste und -abfallaufkommen in Österreich
摘要
In September 2015, the UN General Assembly set the target of halving per capita food waste at retail and consumer level and reducing food losses along the production and supply chain as part of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 (Sustainable Development Goal 12.3). The Union and its Member States have committed to meeting this target. With the need to implement the UN’s sustainability goals, the European Union has defined how future measurements of food waste as part of the reporting obligation on the amount of food waste have to be done. Data for Austria was submitted to the European Commission for the first time for the reference year 2020. However, these differ in some areas from those previously collected and published for Austria due to different methodological requirements and/or approaches. The different survey methods are explained in detail. Differences in the results on food waste generation can be explained partly, e.g. by the definition of food waste used in each case.
