Über die Bedeutung der Operational Design Domains im kooperativen, vernetzten, automatisierten Fahren

The Operational Design Domain (ODD) is an important concept in systems engineering for the development and validation of cooperative, connected, automated driving functions. In the given paper an extended definition for the ODD is introduced and motivated in the context of scenario-based development. By application of this extended and more crisp definition in relation to the state-of-the-art, a number of new use-cases for that concept can be found, enabling a consistent and comprehensive for any type of sub-system and sub-function of integral safety, automated driving, and traffic automation.
