<p>Recycling is one of the the central research areas at the Technical University of Leoben and forms a&#xa0;key element for closing the raw materials cycle, representing a&#xa0;core aspect of the Austrian Circular Economy Strategy. With the establishment of the Cluster of Excellence Recycling in 2025, a&#xa0;department-spanning research network was created that brings together diverse expertise on secondary raw materials. The aim is to enable a&#xa0;more efficient utilization of scientific resources and a&#xa0;holistic approach to addressing challenges. The cluster thus strengthens not only internal collaboration among over 100 researchers but also the university’s national and international visibility as a&#xa0;leading research institution in recycling. In more than 120 projects, innovations are advanced along the entire value chain—from innovative material cycles to new process routes for a&#xa0;more sustainable industry.</p>
