摘要

The Department of “Mineral Resources Engineering”, which was launched on 1 January 2006 and unites the Chairs of “Mineral Processing”, “Mining Engineering and Mineral Economics”, “Ceramics” and “Subsurface Engineering” under one scientific umbrella, was quick to diversify its educational offering. In addition to supervising the established Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes, each chair is responsible for at least one international Master’s degree programme and one (inter)national postgraduate course.

In 2022, the Chair of Mineral Processing, together with three other related chairs at the Universities of Oulu/Finland, Zagreb/Croatia, and Santa Maria/Chile, has succeeded in establishing and running an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s programme in “Sustainable Mineral and Metal Processing Engineering” at the second attempt. Up to 100 students “from all over the world” will complete this international Master’s programme in four cohorts and graduate with a Master of Science degree. The first cohort has just finished this programme, the second cohort spent the summer semester 2024 at the Montanuniversität Leoben, and the third cohort has been selected from a pool of 400 applications and is starting their studies in the first semester at the University of Oulu in September 2024.
