Analysen an alten Kris-Dolchen sowie Nachschmiedung eines Dolchs

Indonesian Kris daggers were examined using a portable XRF equipment. Two of four Krises contained Ni, suggesting the use of meteorite iron. In another privately owned Kris, Ni concentrations were measured in the percentage range, which rather indicates the use of a Ni-rich steel. A corrugated Kris was also reforged and the microstructure and quality of the fire welds were checked by metallography.
