Erdbeobachtungstechnologien im Bergbau

The use of Earth observation in mining has so far lacked a systematic framework that can support the needs of all stakeholders. The EU project S34I seeks to develop new approaches for analysing earth observation data with the primary goal of providing information to mining stakeholders. The aim is to take into account the constantly different challenges in the various phases of the mining life cycle. Different applications will be tested at six different pilot sites, different sensor data will be used and processing methods will be combined. The aim of this research goes beyond the benefits of development for industrial activities alone; it also makes a significant contribution to improving safety and sustainability.
