<p><i>Kinosternon scorpoioides scorpioides</i> is a small semiaquatic turtle. In order to obtain information on the morphology of this species, we seek to describe the anatomical aspects of the brachial and lumbosacral plexus of <i>K. s. scorpioides.</i> The thoracic and pelvic limbs of ten specimens were dissected to expose the two plexuses. In general, the brachial plexus contributed from C7, C8 and T1 and the lumbosacral from T9, T10, S1, S2 and S3. The brachial plexus gave rise to three trunks, the cranial, middle and caudal trunks, which later formed the nerves and were distributed along the thoracic muscles. The lumbosacral plexus, in turn, gave rise to a plexus in the lumbar portion and another in the sacral portion, both connected by S1. In the sacral portion a <i>ramus ventralis</i> and a <i>ramus dorsalis</i> were formed and later the branches with the nerves responsible for innervating the pelvic limb of <i>K. s. scorpioides</i>. It was possible to observe many similarities between the brachial and lumbosacral plexus of <i>K. s. scorpioides</i> and those of other Testudines already described in the literature. The results of this study may help with clinical and surgical procedures involving the species in question, as well as providing information that will allow comparative analyses between other Testudines.</p>

Kinosternon scorpoioides scorpioides is a small semiaquatic turtle.
