Inhomogeneous plane waves at an interface of orthotropic elastic half-spaces with voids

In this paper, we study the propagation of inhomogeneous plane waves in an orthotropic elastic medium with voids. We use the mixed specification and the componental specification of the slowness vector to define the propagation of an inhomogeneous incident wave and the reflected, transmitted waves. The problem of the reflection and transmission of plane waves at a plane interface between two orthotropic half-spaces with voids is discussed. Numerical examples are considered to illustrate the effects of void parameters and the inhomogeneity of incident wave on the phase velocities, on the phase direction and attenuation angles of waves, and on the reflection and transmission coefficients. Furthermore, we also investigate the existence of both homogeneous and inhomogeneous incident waves.
