Chirurgie der Zukunft – Simulationstraining als Kernbestandteil der Fort- und Weiterbildung
摘要
Surgical simulation training is still a niche topic, as it has not yet been fully integrated into resident training. Despite high interest, over 80% of hospitals have not established simulation training in their curricula. Against the background of demographic change, technological progress, economic pressure, and increasing operational complexity, the significance of surgical simulation training is gradually increasing.
Materials and methodsA selective literature search on the topic of simulation training in surgery was conducted.
ResultsSurgical simulation training can be applied across all surgical fields. Low- and high-fidelity simulators lower the training threshold for residents. Studies in different surgical professions across various simulators (from paper models to virtual reality) prove that simulation training leads to a significant improvement in residents’ surgical skills. It can lead to shorter operation times and lower complication rates, thus having direct beneficial effects on surgical patient care.
ConclusionSurgical simulation training has the potential to make resident training more practical, economically efficient, and safer for patients. Structured curricula and regular feedback are essential for implementation within existing training concepts.
