Synthesis of high-performance adhesives by epoxy-amin reaction modification of soy protein isolate and its applications
摘要
SPI-based adhesives are a crucial alternative to traditional aldehyde adhesives due to their eco-friendly properties and renewable resources. However, their limited internal cross-linking and hydrophilic nature restrict bonding strength and water resistance. This study developed a high-performance SPI-based adhesive with a complex cross-linked network using corsslinking-copolymerization approach. The adhesive exhibited excellent bonding strength and water resistance with dry and wet shear strengths of 2.71 MPa and 1.65 MPa for wood gluing, modulus of elasticity (MOE) of 12,250.91 MPa, and modulus of rupture (MOR) of 63.01 MPa (GB/T 9846-2015) for multilayered plywoods, respectively, and it also possessed good mildew resistance properties. The adhesive also demonstrated superior adhesion on non-porous substrates like glass and metals. This research introduces new insights for developing high-performance, multi-purpose eco-friendly adhesives, promoting their widespread industrial implementation and technological advancement.
