A review of 3D object detection based on autonomous driving

3D object detection is a popular research direction in recent years, which plays an important role in the fields of automatic driving, intelligent robot navigation, medical treatment, AR&VR and so on. In this paper, the main research progress of 3D object detection is reviewed. Firstly, the basic concept and common data sets of 3D object detection are introduced. Secondly, 3D object detection algorithms are divided into LIDAR-based 3D object detection, camera-based 3D object detection and multi-modal 3D object detection according to the type of equipment that acquired data, and the representative work of each algorithm is described in detail. Finally, the above methods are compared and summarized, and the future development of 3D object detection is summarized and prospected.
