摘要

Background

Presbyopia-correcting intraocular lenses (IOL) are usually implanted bilaterally.

Case report

A 49-year-old highly myopic female patient with unilateral cataract underwent unilateral implantation of a nondiffractive, presbyopia-correcting IOL.

Result

Uncorrected visual acuity from a distance to 40 cm was good 3 months postoperatively, with high patient satisfaction and no relevant dysphotopsia.

Conclusion

With careful patient selection, unilateral implantation of modern presbyopia-correcting IOL can be a successful treatment option.
