Characterization of ultra-intense laser focal spot parameters based on laser accelerated electrons

Thanks to advancements such as chirped pulse amplification (CPA), the peak power of lasers has reached the petawatt level. Accurately measuring the parameters of ultra-intense and ultra-short laser focal spots is crucial for providing fundamental theoretical explanations for strong-field physics experiments, and it holds significant importance for research in strong-field laser physics and related technological applications. Based on the theory and numerical simulations of vacuum laser-driven electron acceleration, this study reports a high-precision method for measuring laser focal spot parameters by analyzing the scattering angles and energy data of scattered electrons.
