Growth characteristics of FFF 316L sintering neck and effect of dopping copper: a two-dimensional minimal phase field model
摘要
This article provides a detailed introduction to the DS-FFF (Debinding and Sintering type Fused Filament Fabrication) additive manufacturing technology, which is primarily applied in the preparation of metal and ceramic structural components. The paper discusses various aspects including the technology’s principles, sintering mechanisms, material transfer mechanisms, and experimental and simulation studies. It develops a phase field model to simulate the growth of sintering necks during the initial stage of sintering. From the perspective of diffusion, it explains how adding copper can enhance the sintering activity of 316 L stainless steel powder, facilitating the growth and formation of sintering necks, thereby advancing the sintering process. This work demonstrates, through both experimental observation and phase-field modeling, that minor copper addition significantly accelerates sintering-neck growth and densification in DS-FFF 316 L stainless steel.
