Construction, characterization, and elucidation of the photocatalytic properties of Ag3BiO3/AgCl composite materials

The new type of novel photocatalyst Ag3BiO3/AgCl was synthesized via hydrothermal methods in this study. The results revealed that the newly developed photocatalyst could enhance visible light absorption and carrier separation efficiency, with the Ag3BiO3/AgCl 1:9 composite catalyst exhibiting exceptional performance. The capture of active species on Ag3BiO3/AgCl revealed that ·O2− also played a pivotal role. The synthesized Ag3BiO3/AgCl photocatalyst is environmentally friendly and cost-effective, offering a more efficient approach for photocatalysis applications.
