Synthesis of homogeneous CaCO3 nano powders with good dispersibility via a novel method
摘要
On account of their excellent properties, such as high surface area, non-toxicity, high porosity, and biocompatibility towards bodily fluids, calcium carbonate (CaCO3) nano particles have a good deal of industrial applications. Here, the present study reports a facile strategy combined with a ball milling process and a subsequent hydrothermal treatment to synthesize CaCO3 nano powders. Homogeneous CaCO3 precursors with an average size of 80 nm were prepared via a ball milling process, which subsequently transformed as well crystallized CaCO3 nano powders with an average size of 145 nm after the hydrothermal condition at 160 ℃ for 12 h. The as-obtained CaCO3 nano powders demonstrated good homogeneity with narrow size distribution and improved dispersibility, suggesting they are compatible in current industrial applications.
