摘要

In the modern solid state lighting for homes and workplaces, colour rendition, lumen efficiency, intensity, are not the only parameters. There is a huge paradigm shift with the awareness of harmful effect of blue light. Melatonin suppression index and circadian action factor are two new figures of merits associated with lighting sources. Sophisticated solutions have been proposed to improve on these factors. However, none of them are based on 1-phosphor converted LEDs. The market is dominated by 1-phosphor converted LEDs due to their low cost, mass scale production, worldwide demand, etc. Here, a 1-phosphor converted LED is demonstrated using cyan chip (490 nm) instead of blue (450 nm) and orange-red emitting phosphors instead of YAG:Ce. It is claimed that this an optimised solution for avoiding hazards of blue light, maintaining the economy at the same time.
