<p>The International Federation for Manual/Musculoskeletal Medicine (FIMM), through its 2024 guidelines on training, safety, evidence, and quality (v5.0), reinforces its leadership role in international manual and musculoskeletal medicine (MM medicine). With a&#xa0;bold move towards a&#xa0;competency-based education model alongside the traditional credit-based education model, as well as through strengthened framework conditions for quality assurance and professional governance, the FIMM has set an ambitious new international standard particularly relevant to European professional frameworks, such as those outlined in the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). Central to the update is a&#xa0;shift from hour-based to competency-based education, a&#xa0;broadened safety agenda, and integration of continuous quality mechanisms. The document also introduces reforms to governance and accountability for member societies. Criticisms of the current draft include the reliance on older literature and limited ethical detail, but ongoing revisions promise to address these gaps.
