<p>The accurate and reliable detection of harmful substances in food is a critical concern for food safety, as ingestion of these contaminants can pose significant health risks to humans. Aptamers and molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs), renowned for their high specificity and selectivity, have been extensively researched for their potential in detecting food contaminants. Recently, aptamers-MIPs dual recognition elements have emerged, combining the strengths of both recognition elements and demonstrating promise in food safety detection. This review delves into the design strategies of aptamers-MIPs dual recognition elements, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of each approach. We emphasize the applications of aptamers-MIPs dual recognition in detecting harmful substances in food. Lastly, we discuss the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for the future applications of aptamers-MIPs dual recognition elements.</p>
