Investigation of the potential of electrospun n-ZnO/n-WO3/PVA-coated glass with varying n-ZnO wt% as promising thin-film dosimetry
摘要
n-ZnO/n-WO3/PVA nanofibers encompassing various wt% of n-ZnO (ranging from 2 to 10 wt%) along with 5 wt% n-WO3-coated glass were fabricated as a promising thin film for radiation dosimetry. This fabrication process entailed a 4 h of electrospinning process. The morphological features and elemental composition of the samples were analyzed using FESEM and EDX techniques, while the crystallinity and light reflectance characteristics were probed through XRD and UV–Vis spectroscopy. Results revealed that the atomic percentage (at%) and weight percentage (wt%) of zinc (Zn) exhibited an increment, whereas that of tungsten (W) displayed a decrease, as the wt% of n-ZnO within n-ZnO/n-WO3/PVA nanofibers increased. Remarkably, distinctive XRD peaks attributed to n-ZnO and n-WO3 were evident solely in samples with 10 wt% n-ZnO. Simultaneously, the percentage of light reflectance exhibited an increment with the escalating wt% of n-ZnO, particularly within the wavelength range of 370–380 nm. Across all samples, the energy band gap spanned from 3.05 to 3.17 eV, indicating values lower than those found in the bulk variants of n-ZnO and n-WO3. Notably, the sample containing 4 wt% n-ZnO demonstrated the highest absorbed dose compared to the others, underlining its potential as a promising material for radiation dosimetry applications.
