摘要

A new species, Xerocomellus bajaurensis, is described and illustrated from the Bajaur District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, based on morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analyses of ITS and 28 S sequences. This species forms a distinct clade in the phylogenetic tree and is characterized by medium-sized basidiomata with a dark brown to reddish brown, cracked pileus, pale-yellow context, and large ellipsoid to sub-fusiform basidiospores (average length × width = 23.2 × 9.4 μm). The study provides a description, colored photographs, detailed microscopic structures, and results from combined ITS-28 S-based phylogenetic analyses of the new species. Furthermore, Xerocomellus bajaurensis is compared with closely related taxa.
