<p>In this study, a novel, aerobic, mesophilic bacterial strain capable of siderophore and indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) production, designated YIM B11900<sup>T</sup>, was isolated and classified. The rod-shaped, Gram-stain-positive bacterium was isolated from rhizosphere sawdust matrix samples of <i>Dendrobium devonianum</i> collected from Longling County, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province, southwest PR China. Strain YIM B11900<sup>T</sup> exhibited optimal growth at 30 °C (range 10–35 °C), pH 7 (range 5–10), and 1.5% (w/v) NaCl (range 0.5–2.5%, w/v). The 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity analysis revealed that strain YIM B11900<sup>T</sup> exhibited the highest similarity to strain <i>Herbiconiux oxytropis</i> CPCC 203406<sup>T</sup> (98.48%). Phylogenetic analysis based on genome data suggested that strain YIM B11900<sup>T</sup> belonged to the genus <i>Herbiconiux</i>. The average nucleotide identity (ANI) value was 79.7%, the digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) value was 24.0%, and the average amino acid identity (AAI) value was 77.8% compared to the related strain <i>Herbiconiux oxytropis</i> CPCC 203406<sup>T</sup>. The major fatty acids were <i>anteiso</i>-C<sub>15:0</sub>, Summed Feature 8 (C<sub>18:1</sub> <i>ɷ</i>7c/C<sub>18:1</sub> <i>ɷ</i>6c), and <i>anteiso</i>-C<sub>17:0</sub>. The polar lipids included diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, lipid, and five unidentified glycolipids. The predominant menaquinones were MK-10 and MK-11, and the genomic DNA G + C content was 70%. Considering the polyphasic taxonomic evidence, strain YIM B11900<sup>T</sup> is proposed as a novel species within the genus <i>Herbiconiux</i>, designated as <i>Herbiconiux dendrobii</i> sp. nov. (type strain YIM B11900<sup>T</sup> = NBRC 117108<sup>T</sup> = CGMCC 1.64948<sup>T</sup>).</p>
