<p>A Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, motile, rod-shaped, pale yellow bacterial strain LB2S<sup>T</sup> was isolated from a plastic film greenhouse soil in Huaibei, China, and its taxonomic position was investigated using polyphasic approach. Growth occurred at 15–45&#xa0;℃ (optimum, 30&#xa0;°C), at pH 5.0–9.0 (optimum, pH 8.0) and at 0–1.5% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 0% NaCl). The 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain LB2S<sup>T</sup> showed high similarity to <i>Oryzisolibacter propanilivorax</i> EPL6T (97.4% similarity), followed by <i>Melaminivora alkalimesophila</i> CY1T (97.1%), <i>Alicycliphilus denitrificans</i> K601T (97.0%), and <i>Paenacidovorax caeni</i> R-24608<sup>&#xa0;T</sup> (96.9%). The pairwise average nucleotide identity (ANI), average amino acid identity (AAI) and digital DNA-DNA hybridizations (dDDH) values between strain LB2S<sup>T</sup> and other <i>Comamonadaceae</i> species were below 85.3%, 85.0% and 29.4%, respectively. Considering the results from phylogeny, phenotypic and genotypic data, strain LB2S<sup>T</sup> (= CCTCC AB 2023230<sup>&#xa0;T</sup> = KCTC 8325<sup>&#xa0;T</sup>) represent a novel species of the genus <i>Alicycliphilus</i>, for which the name <i>Alicycliphilus soli</i> sp. nov. is proposed. Furthermore, based on the phylogenomic analysis, it is recommended that <i>Diaphorobacter limosus</i> be reclassified as <i>Alicycliphilus limosus</i> comb. nov.</p>
