摘要

Background

Facelift surgery is becoming increasingly common in men. Certain male- specific characteristics necessitate a tailored approach to achieve a natural, stigma-free outcome. The sideburn area in men requires special attention to avoid visible scars and to maintain its position, preventing an unaesthetic and feminized appearance.

Methods

The author describes his personal approach to managing the sideburns in men undergoing facelift surgery and provides a literature review of techniques used in this region to avoid postoperative stigmas.

Results

The technique used by the author allows for the maintenance of both the width and position of the male sideburns, with scars camouflaged within the hair and beard regions.

Conclusions

Temporal flap rotation and excess skin resection in the male sideburn area have proven effective in maintaining a natural, stigma-free result.
