<p>Abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS) is a life-threatening condition characterized by sustained increased intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) greater than 20 mmHg leading to organ dysfunction. Although intraabdominal pressure measurements, usually with an intravesical catheter, remains the diagnostic gold standard, ACS is frequently underdiagnosed due to its nonspecific clinical presentation and overlap with other critical illnesses. This review provides an overview of the pathophysiology, clinical features and imaging findings of ACS and emphasizes the importance of raising this diagnosis of ACS on CT scans performed on ill patients.</p>
