<p>Tufted angioma is a rare benign vascular tumor, and cardiac involvement is exceptionally uncommon. A term neonate with prenatal pericardial effusion developed recurrent tamponade despite drainage and medical therapy. Surgical exploration revealed a pericardial tufted angioma confirmed histologically. Recurrent neonatal pericardial effusion unresponsive to conventional therapy should prompt suspicion of vascular tumors. Early biopsy and targeted therapy with sirolimus and vincristine may be lifesaving.</p>

Tufted angioma is a rare benign vascular tumor, and cardiac involvement is exceptionally uncommon. A term neonate with prenatal pericardial effusion developed recurrent tamponade despite drainage and medical therapy. Surgical exploration revealed a pericardial tufted angioma confirmed histologically. Recurrent neonatal pericardial effusion unresponsive to conventional therapy should prompt suspicion of vascular tumors. Early biopsy and targeted therapy with sirolimus and vincristine may be lifesaving.
