The “ideal” Southern European female buttocks: a socio-demographic analysis
摘要
Cosmetic surgery of the gluteal region is becoming increasingly frequent and popular. It was therefore considered useful to investigate which characteristics define a female buttock model that could be regarded as the most attractive by the general population.
MethodsThe survey was conducted by showing participants 18 computer-generated models featuring different gluteal volumes, varying lengths of the infragluteal sulcus, and the presence or absence of Venus’ dimples. Participants were then asked to identify which models they found most aesthetically pleasing.
ResultsIn total, we interviewed 1,064 people. Regarding volume, the most desirable buttocks were those with a 1:3 ratio to the waist. The most attractive infragluteal sulci were found to be of 3/5 length. Finally, the most beautiful female buttocks were those with the presence of Venus’ dimples.
ConclusionsBy summarizing the collected data, it was possible to reconstruct an ideal female buttock model based on the three parameters considered. This information is certainly helpful in the preoperative planning of cosmetic surgery for female buttocks. Level of Evidence: Not gradable.
