Study of boiling heat transfer on modified surfaces of dielectric liquid Novec 7100

This work is devoted to the study of heat transfer intensification and increase of critical heat flux (CHF) at pool boiling due to the use of modified surfaces. The results of pool boiling heat transfer experiments of saturated dielectric liquid methoxy-nonafluorobutane (Novec 7100) on modified surfaces are presented. The investigations were carried out for bimetallic samples, as well as for copper and molybdenum samples modified by electron beam in the pressure range (1–4) atm. The comparison of CHF values obtained on all samples was performed, the increase of CHF on bimetallic surfaces up to 30% was shown. The reason for the increase of CHF is the non-isothermal nature of the heat exchange surface. The increase of CHF on surfaces modified by electron beam up to 40% was revealed.
