<p>Temporal resolution, the ability to detect rapid changes in the sound envelope, is essential for accurate speech perception. This ability can be evaluated using gap detection tasks, which involve identifying brief silent intervals embedded within noise stimuli. Recent behavioral findings have suggested that dance training may enhance gap detection performance, but the underlying neural mechanisms remain unexplored. In this study, we investigated the electrophysiological correlates of auditory temporal processing in individuals with dance training. The results showed that dancers exhibited significantly larger P3a amplitudes in response to gap stimuli compared to non-dancers. Furthermore, P3a amplitude was positively correlated with both years of dance experience and weekly hours of practice. In contrast, no group differences emerged in either mismatch negativity or behavioral gap detection performance. These findings suggest an impact of dance training on temporal processing, highlighting increased sensitivity to novel auditory events.</p>
