Background <p>Plaque psoriasis is a chronic skin condition characterized by skin scales. It causes a cosmetic problem for patients. Mirikizumab has shown promising results in managing psoriasis. Nevertheless, there remains a&#xa0;dispute over its safety. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to assess the effectiveness of mirikizumab in individuals with plaque psoriasis.</p> Methods <p>We searched four databases: PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane CENTRAL, and Web of Science. We included trials comparing mirikizumab with placebo in psoriatic patients. Two independent authors extracted data in an Excel sheet. We used RevMan software (version 5.2) to perform meta-analysis.</p> Results <p>A meta-analysis of three RCTs with a total of 1648 patients was performed. Mirikizumab showed significantly higher rates of PASI 75, PASI 90, and PASI 100 responses at week 16 compared to placebo, with risk ratios (RR) of 10.47, 11.5, and 25.94, respectively (all P &lt; 0.00001). According to adverse events, we found no difference between mirikizumab and placebo. Furthermore, mirikizumab showed significant results compared to placebo in terms of DLQI, sPGA, and body surface area, with P &lt; 0.00001. Unfortunately, there was no difference between the two groups regarding adverse events, with p = 0.63.</p> Conclusion <p>Mirikizumab showed good responses in managing plaque psoriasis. However, additional clinical trials are required to verify its safety and evaluate its long-term efficacy.</p>
