Degenerations of Grassmannians via lattice configurations II

This paper is a continuation of our study of degenerations of Grassmannians in He and Zhang (Int Math Res Notes 2023(1): 298–349, 2023), called linked Grassmannians, constructed using convex lattice configurations in Bruhat-Tits buildings. We describe the geometry and topology of linked Grassmannians associated to a larger class of lattice configurations, generalizing the results in loc.cit.. In doing so, we utilize results on the geometry of quiver Grassmannians and affine Schubert varieties, and make comparison to the study of certain local models of Shimura varieties.
