<p>India holds vast potential for clean and sustainable energy, with over 90% of its land mass receiving 3.0–6.5&#xa0;kWh/m<sup>2</sup> of solar irradiation daily during summer months. This abundant solar resource plays a crucial role in achieving energy security and sustainable development, especially through government initiatives that facilitate access to affordable clean energy. This study focuses on the energy landscape of Mizoram, India, highlighting the economic challenges of relying on imported power and exploring alternative energy solutions to enhance the state's energy security and sustainability. Using real-time datasets, the study investigates the relationship between various temporal characteristics and employs a robust forecasting model to predict diurnal solar irradiance and its dynamics. The feasibility of solar farms in Mizoram is then assessed in accordance with circle-wise distribution and hourly average energy demand patterns. Additionally, an evaluation of the state's transmission infrastructure is conducted, supported by simulations of the existing power network and energy distribution system. The economic assessments highlight that a system incorporating 60% storage can become financially self-sustaining, yielding a net value of approximately INR 94.3 crores over 18&#xa0;years. Additionally, the sustainability score (7.5) of the proposed plant opens new avenues for further improvements.</p>
