Improving real-time wind turbine deloading using advanced control strategy

This paper introduces a real-time deloading technique for wind turbines (WT) that relies on advanced control strategies, eliminating the need for predefined characteristics, mathematical modeling, or additional hardware. The technique operates in a dual-mode cycle: maximum power measurement mode and power reserve mode, each governed by specific controllers—a pitch angle controller and a perturb and observe algorithm. A flexible monitoring signal triggers the cycle, enabling diverse configuration options.
