摘要

The optimization of power quality (PQ) in interconnected renewable energy systems (RES) is examined in this paper, with a special focus on photovoltaic (PV) and wind energy (WE) sources integrated at the alternative current (AC) bus with the conventional grid. In addressing the challenge of reducing voltage harmonics caused by the characteristics of wind and solar energy systems, which extensively employ power electronic devices for interfacing with the grid, it is imperative to recognize these devices as nonlinear loads and acknowledge their role as significant sources of harmonics. To mitigate these harmonic issues, the study integrates the series active power filter (SAPF). The research emphasizes SAPF's role in enhancing interconnected RES power quality, offering valuable insights for sustainable and resilient energy systems. The study includes a number of experiments, such as short-circuit simulations and voltage dips, sags, and swells. The results provide important new information for the design of interconnected RES by demonstrating how well SAPF may improve PQ and reduce disruptions.
