摘要

The closed-loop dynamic performance of a high voltage gain DC–DC boost converter with increased number of voltage multiplier cell (VMC) is a hot issue in a sensitive electronic equipment. This paper investigates the trade-off between voltage gain and dynamic performance in selecting the number of VMC stages in a DC–DC boost converter. For analysis, the two-input boost (DIB) converter is considered, also two traditional control schemes, namely two-loop (inner current loop and outer voltage loop) control and feed-forward plus feedback control, are adopted in converter voltage regulation. The worst case analysis i.e output voltage regulation under load and input voltage disturbances at the same instant has been examined on a DIB converter with one- and two-stage diode-capacitor VMC. The simulation, experimental and comparison results of traditional controllers w.r.t. number of VMC in DIB converter suggest the trade-off in choosing number of VMC stages. An experimental prototype is built with two input sources of each 20 V, converter of 250 W and the controllers implemented on FPGA board.
