Aktuelle Erkenntnisse zur Rolle von Zytokinen bei Fällen des plötzlichen Kindstodes
摘要
Background
Sudden Infant death syndrome (SIDS) refers to the unexpected death of an apparently healthy infant. Even after examining the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body, conducting a full autopsy, performing further tests, and reviewing the deceased child’s medical history, the cause of death remains unexplained.
ObjectiveThe aim of this review article is to summarize the current knowledge on the role of cytokines in the development of SIDS.
ResultsNumerous studies show that a dysregulated level of cytokines plays a major role in infants who die from SIDS.
ConclusionA detailed examination of the immune system and the factors involved, such as cytokines or immune cells, is essential when investigating SIDS cases.
