Akzidentelle Selbsttötung mit Feuerwerkskörper
摘要
Injuries related to fireworks, especially on New Year’s Eve, are frequently seen in the routine clinical setting but they rarely result in fatal injuries. In the depicted case a young male adult died due to incorrect handling of a firework of category F4, which led to a massive craniocerebral trauma. The sale of pyrotechnical material of this category is only allowed for people with a pyrotechnical license according to the German Explosives Act, which in this case did not exist. This article discusses the mechanism of injury and gives a short overview of the construction and the operation of the firework used.
